Guyanas President Bharrat Jagdeo is making a worldwide appeal to donors for agricultural support. At the recently concluded Agriculture Donor Conference held in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, the head of state made the appeal to ensuring food security and rural development throughout the Caribbean region. The conference was aimed at resuscitating financial flows and boosting technical support for diversified agricultural initiatives. The Regional Transformation Program for Agriculture is expected to transform the agricultural sector to become internationally competitive with the Jagdeo Initiative forming a critical tenet of the RTPA's holistic approach.
