Jamaica to deport two Haitians suspected of gun running

Wednesday, January 11, 2006

Two illegal migrants from Haiti who are suspects in a weapons and drug-smuggling operation between Jamaica and Haiti, would be deported from Jamaica, local police said. The two men would be returned to Haiti after serving a 10-day sentence for illegally entering Jamaica.
Two Jamaicans also appeared during the January 5 hearing. One was charged with aiding the Haitians' illegal entry. The other was not charged.
All four men were arrested on December 30 in Clarendon, 60 miles west of Kingston.
Police have been investigating a weapons and illegal drug-smuggling ring involving Haitians and Jamaicans for many months, said Assistant Police Commissioner and task force commander for Operation Kingfish Glenmore Hinds.

WITHOUT MONEY
These days people don't need money to create and build guns. As a article reads that hand made guns are more powerful than the machinery ones. Not only are the people in Haiti poor; they are very skilled people too. Alot of poor people are talented and have skills . If you should see what some poor people can make with just wood, metal, straw, paint, etc. only using their bare hands. Tears would flow continuosly and you would walk away asking why these people can't get just one opportunity in life or some strong help to ensure that they can at least feed their families.

I have red your article if thats the way you think, thats your opinion. A question for you. What will happen or how would you feel when you go and use your Gun to get food for your family and another Gun Man come and take that food from you to feed his family too, you see the cycle and connection! There are tuns of jobs in Jamaica, but everybody want to do the same thing, a job is a service that you provide to other people, look arround and see good service that people need, provide that service and charge for it. You dont even need to have a formal Education do certain things. What about helping Seniors who dont have any kids to have a Shower! That is just one thing.

Corrupted System
Just becasue we caught this once doesn't mean that this kind of thing doesn't happen everyday. Guns are always being smuggled into Jamaica, but this really shows that this kind of thing happens in other carribean countries. We should all pray in time of distress and ask god to help us find a better way to live in peace in the world

My opinion
Express divine... i don't have problem with your opinion as far as Jamaica is got address it's own problem but the part about "these refugees that have a violent inclination" u must be a causian or you just to washed because the way u trying to stereotype Haitians, is all wrong ... it shows that you are not well informed about haitian people... u got it all wrong partner, just because the political problem is mess up right now, it doesn't mean that Haitian are violent people, like you implying... whenever you have a group of people running from a bad situation to another country there's always oposition for all different types of reasons... i can understand but Haitians are very peacefull wants peace in their own country (brotha)

Illegal Weapons
I think Jamaica should deal with their own problems before taking in these refugees that have a violent inclination. Jamaica have enough tribulations to deal with.

shame for real
its a shame for real that this poor people only way to make money is to comite crime. cause no job fi get, no education fi get ( mama and papa to poor to pay schoolbill)and all what they get from theire big rich brother up (USA), is the chance to make us dollars with drugs and us wappons (for sure plenty of that is smith&wesson for example)
to life a rich life like they know some people do from USA.

What's next?
When did Jamaica get so caught up, with the Haitians. I thought there was a problem with smuggling guns into JA, but not to my wildest dreams did I think that there would be issues surrounding exportation of guns from JA, especially to Haiti. I hope that this will be taken as an example for other illegal immigrants in JA and Jamaicans who which to abuse the system.

IT'S A SHAME
These men are from two poor countries; and all they can do is import weapons between their countries. Why not aide each other with food, clothes, money, anything else apart from guns. Seems like some people aren't as hungry as people think they are.
