The first suspect held in connection with the second bombing to hit Trinidad's capital Port-of-Spain has been released. But Police Commissioner, Trevor Paul said another suspect was being questioned in connection with the terrorist-like attack on the city.
Last Wednesday an explosion, the second in one month, shook parts of the city on Nelson Street Independence Square sending pedestrians and motorists scampering for safer ground. The explosion went off near a pile of garbage in the Old Citys George Street, about 100 yards from the citys Roman Catholic cathedral.
The explosion brought a quick reaction from the security forces. There were no reported casualties and no property was damaged.
As part of a new security initiative, government has announced it will be installing fourteen new closed-circuit television cameras in what it calls crime hot spots.
The security cameras will cost government $400,000 and are to be set up around Frederick and Charlotte Streets.
